1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using JLPT Coach, operated by KAIZEN DIGITAL ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use JLPT Coach. By using the service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Description of Service

JLPT Coach is a Japanese language learning platform that provides:

  • Graded reading content organized by JLPT level
  • Interactive dictionary lookup with tap-to-translate
  • Vocabulary saving and flashcard practice
  • Reading progress tracking
  • Comprehension quizzes

3. Account Registration

To use JLPT Coach, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You may only maintain one account per person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate duplicate accounts.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated tools to scrape or download content
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the service
  • Reproduce, distribute, or resell our content without permission

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Billing

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, depending on your plan). Payment is processed securely through Stripe.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access until that time.

Refunds

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you have concerns about your subscription, please contact us at contact.jlptcoach@gmail.com.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription prices. Any price changes will be communicated in advance and will apply to the next billing cycle.

6. Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on JLPT Coach, including stories, quizzes, and educational materials, is owned by KAIZEN DIGITAL or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

Third-Party Content

Dictionary data is provided by JMdict and KANJIDIC2 under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Example sentences are sourced from Tatoeba under the CC BY 2.0 FR license. For full attribution details, see our Legal & Attribution page.

Your Content

You retain ownership of any vocabulary you save. By using the service, you grant us a license to store and display this content to you within the application.

7. Disclaimers

JLPT Coach is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • The accuracy or completeness of educational content
  • Any specific learning outcomes or exam results
  • Compatibility with all devices or browsers

JLPT Coach is an independent educational resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Japan Foundation or JEES (the organizations that administer the official JLPT exam).

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KAIZEN DIGITAL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the service
  • Any unauthorized access to your account
  • Any interruption or cessation of the service
  • Any errors or inaccuracies in the content

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

By You

You may cancel your subscription at any time. To delete your account, please contact us at contact.jlptcoach@gmail.com.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to other users or our service.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Your saved vocabulary and learning data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
